Asahi City

Asahi city is located in the north-east part of Chiba prefecture, 50km from Chiba city and 80km from Tokyo. The southern part faces the beautiful Kujyuukuri coast and to the north is the Higata Hachimanseki, the finest granaries in the Boso peninsula and the hilly regions of the Hokusou plateau. Running east-west through the center of Asahi-shi is the JR Soubu line and the 126 Road making it a growing town in the region.
The main industry in Asahi city is agriculture. Horticulture, stock raising, rice farm, and outdoors vegetable are to name a few. The fishing industry, commerce, and general industry are growing.

On July 1, 2005, Asahi city, Unakami-cho, Iioka-cho, and Higata-cho combined expanding its dimensions by 129.91 square kilometers. It keeps developing as a core city in the eastern region with the population totaling of 71,000 people.
